PNP personnel of Camarines Norte PPO in supervision of PSSUPT CERILLO D TRILLES JR, Provincial Director have been deployed to the different cemeteries in Camarines Norte to ensure a peaceful observance of all Saints’ Day and all Souls’ Day and conducted information drive and distribution of flyers regarding UNDAS Safety Tips, Crime Prevention Tips and MPS contact number among the residents.
PCSUPT ATTY ARNEL B ESCOBAL, Regional Director led the launching of KASUROG "SIKAD BIKERS" Sama-samang Iaangat ang Kabikolan na Ayaw sa Droga in Sorsogon City on September 22, 2018 6AM. The activity started with a fun bike from Pier Site Rompeolas, Brgy Talisay, Sorsogon City going to Boulevard Brgy Poblacion, Bacon District, Sorsogon City and back to Pier Site Rompeolas, Brgy Talisay, Sorsogon City. The activity was also participated in by the different bikers enthusiasts from different municipalities and other government and non-government agencies in the province of Sorsogon.
Police Regional Office 5 under the leadership of PCSUPT ATTY ARNEL B ESCOBAL, Regional Director in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross conducted Blood Letting Activity today, September 20, 2018 with the theme: "Dugo Alay sa Kapayapaan" as part of the celebration of the National Peace Consciousness Month. PSSUPT NICERIO D OBAOB, Deputy Regional Director for Operation with DRA. Maria Cristina Padilla , Medical Officer, Philippine Red Cross led the blood letting activity. 182 PNP personnel coming from the RHQ; RMFB; RSTU5; RTC5; Albay PPO; Cyber Crime Unit; and other support units participated in the activity. A total of 93 bags (500 ml/bag) were collected and will be donated to the Philippine Red Cross to save lives.
The 1,461 police personnel from Police Regional Office 5 who rendered duties during the weeklong celebration of the 308th year Peńafrancia Festival were officially recalled this morning in a simple send-off held at the Naga City Hall during the traditional flag raising ceremony. Present during the activity were PCSUPT NICERIO D OBAOB, DRDO, PRO5, PSSUPT FELIX N SERVITA JR, Officer-In-Charge, Naga City Police Office and members of the City Government of Naga headed by Mayor John G Bongat, who expressed his gratitude to the personnel in ensuring the peaceful celebration of the festivities. The City Government and the Naga City Police Office gave certificates of commendation to the augmentation personnel in recognition of their outstanding performance and contributions during the activity. The collective efforts of the Local Government of Naga, AFP, BFP, Philippine Coast Guard, other Force Multipliers, Stakeholders and members of the PNP resulted in the safe and successful annual observance of the Feast of Our Lady of Penafrancia. Fr. Darius S Romualdo, Chancellor, Archdiocese of Caceres also read the message of His Excellency Archbishop ROLANDO OCTAVUS JOVEN TRIA TIRONA, O.C.D Archdiocese of Caceres. Likewise, PCSUPT NICERIO D OBAOB, DRDO, PRO5 also gave his message which further challenged the team to continuously seek for improvement in terms of performing the PNP’s mandate to serve and protect the people.

More than a week before the celebrations of UNDAS, numerous cemeteries in the Bicol is now preparing for the annual event. In line with this, Bicol PNP have been placed under heightened alert for the expected influx of people paying respects to their departed loved ones in cemeteries during the entire celebrations of All Souls’ Day and All Saints’ Day. Heightened alert will be upgraded to full alert status two (2) days before the celebrations.
PCSUPT ATTY. ARNEL B ESCOBAL, RD PRO5 directed its Provincial and City Directors down to City and Municipal Police Stations to maximize its PNP personnel to provide maximum security to all the cemeteries in their respective area of responsibility. He further reminded all PNP units to stay on alert, be vigilant and take precautionary measures against domestic threat groups and other lawless elements that may take advantage of the event. No leave is allowed at this time for all the PNP personnel and for those who already filed their leave they will be recalled to render duties for safeguarding the community. Only maternity, paternity and sick leave will be entertained by this time, he said.
PRO5 will also deploy its PNP personnel as augmentation force in the city and municipal police stations for the maintenance of peace and security. While people are celebrating the All Souls’ Day and All Saints ’ Day from October 30 to November 3, 2018, the police will there to perform their mandated duties and obligations. Police and motorist assistance desks will be establish in the area of convergence such as cemeteries, churches, sea ports, terminals, airports, and main thoroughfares. Information Education Campaign (IEC) Materials on crime prevention will also be distributed for public awareness.
General Atty. Escobal advise and inform the public that safety should not only be in cemeteries, but also in their home especially when they leave. Remember that crimes exist everywhere. No one knows when will be the perpetrator attack, personal security must always be observed, let us always be safe”, he added. PCSUPT ATTY. ARNEL B ESCOBAL, Regional Director graced the inauguration and blessing of PRO5 Service Gate located at EM's Barrio, Legazpi City after the Flag Raising ceremony on October 22, 2018. The gate was constructed through the initiative of RD ESCOBAL, intended to be use only during command activities so as not to delay the entrance and exit of our visitors/guests while the ceremony is ongoing inside the camp.

Police Regional Office 5 committed in bringing PNP service closer to the people in collaboration with the media conducted the 1st Regional Media Summit with the theme “Promoting Peace and Security through Strong Police Media-Relations” on August 10, 2018 at the Multi-Purpose Building of Camp BGen Simeon A Ola, Legazpi City in partnership with the National Union Journalist of the Philippines (NUJP) Albay Chapter; Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP); PRO5 Organized Press Corps; and all media practitioners from the different Police Provincial Offices in the Bicol region.
