Six hundred thirty seven (637) young breed of Police Officers officially graduates on the Field Training Exercises of the PSFTP Class 2020-01 on December 22, 2020 at the PRO5 Grandstand Camp BGen Simeon A Ola, Legazpi City with PBGEN BERNARD M BANAC as the Guest of Honor and Speaker.
On the same activity begins another milestone as today also opens their Basic Internal Security Operations Course (BISOC) Class 04-11-2020 R5.
PBGEN BERNARD M BANAC, Director, Philippine National Police Training Service was accorded with an arrival honors as the Guest of Honor and Speaker during the Graduation of the Field Training Exercises of the PSFTP-Class 2020-01 and the Opening of the Basic Internal Security Operations Course (BISOC) Class 04- 11-2020R5 on December 22, 2020 in front of the PRO5 Admin Building, Camp BGen Simeon A Ola, Legazpi City.
The arrival honor was hosted by PCOL DAVID K PEREDO JR. Deputy Regional Director for Operation, PRO5.
PBGEN BART R BUSTAMANTE, Regional Director, delivered the Christmas message of PGEN DEBOLD M SINAS, CPNP to the personnel of Police Regional Office 5 on December 21, 2020 via zoom.
“Lest we forget, ladies and gentlemen, this Christmas time is a season of sharing. As such, we can all have that sense of humanity in this season of plenty. Let each family of our police officers strengthen the bond of love, care and compassion at home. Let all police officers volt in to create an atmosphere of hope, of sense of humanity, and of extending our helping hand to the needy that will serve as our finest moment to shine bright in the eyes of our countrymen during this yuletide season”, from the message of the CPNP.
Personnel of the Regional Headquarters headed by PBGEN BART B BUSTAMANTE, Regional Director went to Brgy San Roque, Tabaco City on December 22, 2020 to distribute assorted relief items to 105 families in the locality.
The activity is the latest of several relief distributions to various communities in Bicol which were affected by the recent typhoons that hit the region as another way of fulfilling its mission to serve and protect.
During the activity, the team also catered a total of 408 individuals on its feeding program dubbed as Kasurog Food Kitchen. An intermission number was also conducted to provide entertainment to the beneficiaries.
PBGEN BART R BUSTAMANTE, Regional Director of PRO5 graced the Oath-Taking ceremony of 13 newly appointed Non Uniformed Personnel held at PRO5 Maringal Lounge, Camp BGen Simeon A Ola, Legazpi City on December 18, 2020.

BGEN BART R BUSTAMANTE, RD, PRO5 through Regional Community Affairs and Development Division (RCADD) conducted relief operations to 100 Muslim families at Shiek Muhammad IBN, Muhammad Albasil Masjid, Brgy. Pawa, Tabaco City on December 18, 2020.
In the advent of the Christmas season, Police Regional Office 5 under the leadership of PBGEN BART R BUSTAMANTE, RD, PRO5 in coordination with the Provincial Government of Catanduanes and the Local Government Unit of Virac, facilitated the distribution of the Three Hundred Ninety Three (393) Noche Buena package donated by Tongas to the residents of Brgy. Francia, Virac, Catanduanes on December 17, 2020.
Police Regional Office 5 headed by PBGEN BART R BUTAMANTE, RD PRO5, in coordination with the Provincial Government of Catanduanes and the Local Government Unit of Virac, facilitated the distribution of Php 500, 000.00 worth of construction materials composed of 614 pcs of GI sheets, 500 pcs plywood and sawn lumber amounting to One Hundred Thousand P100,000.00 on December 17, 2020.
The Php 350, 000.00 from the total donation was given by the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Mapitagan Class of 1980 while Php 150, 000.00 came from the PRO5 fund and other stakeholders.
During the activity, thirty families from Brgy. Batag, Virac, Catanduanes were given given (10) pcs each of GI sheets, (12) pcs each of plywood, (6) pcs sawn lumber and (1) pc each of rechargeable light.
The remaining construction materials will also be given to other gravely affected families in the said barangay.
This undertaking is still part of the continuing effort of PNP Bicol to extend help to the victims of the successive typhoons that severely hit the region.
PRO5 would also like to express its most profound gratitude to PMA Mapitagan Class of 1980 for the act of kindness and generosity by donating construction materials that will aid the beneficiaries in rebuilding their respective homes.

The said activity also paved the way to recognize and give recognition to deserving PNP personnel for their efforts and contributions towards the realization of the organization’s mission to serve and protect.
The Medalya ng Kasanayan was conferred to PCOL Jeffrey S Fernandez, CRS, PRO5; PLTCOL John Q Deloso; PCPT Randy R Bachiller; PSMS Amador F Morcozo Jr; PSSg Manny B Macabeo; PSSg Gie Anne A Lopez; PSsg Kristine T Deluyas; and PSSg Maria Daisy D Lim as the Chief and members of the Regional Police Strategy Management Unit 5 (RPSMU) for obtaining 100% functionality of the unit, its Technical Working Group and Advisory Council covering the period of CY 2019-2020.
Their selfless devotion to duty and expertise had immensely contributed to the transformational change embodied in the PNP P.A.T.R.O.L Plan 2030 towards the attainment of a safer place to live work and do business.
As part of the continuing effort of the PNP leadership and the national government to further enhance the modernization program of the organization, Police Regional Office 5 gets new mobile cars and various Internal Security Operation equipment. These shall also boost the move and shoot capabilities of the unit in performing its operational duties which aims to ensure the safety and security of every Bicolanos.
Among the newly acquired vehicles were 32 units of PNP patrol vehicle; 1 unit PNP Bus; 1 unit restored PNP patrol jeep. The ISO equipment were composed of 440 units undershirt vest level III-A; and 300 units Galil Rifle which were duly received by the Supply Officers and Provincial Supply Accountable Officers of the respective units.
