National Civil Disturbance Management (CDM) Competition (PRO- Level) Featured

Cam BGen Simeon A Ola, Legazpi City- Police Regional Office 5 held the PNP-wide National Civil Disturbance Management (CDM) Competition (PRO- Level) today April 25, 2018 at PRO5 Parade Grounds.

The CDM Challenge aimed to assess and to test the operational readiness, equipage, competency and capability of all CDM contingents in dealing and responding to certain situation and to prevent recurrence of unnecessary course of actions.

CDM competition Panel of Judges are: PSSUPT JERRY C LINSAGAN, DRDO (Chairman); PSSUPT NELSON B BONDOC, RCDS (Vice-Chairman); and the Member Board of Judges are: DIR Josephmar B Gil, MPSA, CESO IV, RD NAPOLCOM; Atty Arlene Q Alangco- RD, CHR, ROV; PSSUPT FROILAN B NAVARROZA- Chief, RPHRDD; PSINSP AUGUSTO S OCFEMIA JR- (RID Representative); PSINSP JERONIE F FARTINGCA- (ROPD Representative); PSUPT BRENDA O GARCIA- Assistant Chief, RLRDD; PSUPT EDMUNDO A CERILLO- Chief, PIO; PSUPT CARL JOSEPH B JAUCIAN- Assistant Chief, RCD; PSUPT AARNE V OLIQIANO- Acting Chief, RIDMD; PSUPT EFREN E ORLINA-OIC, RHSG; and PCINSP MAITA A GABRENTINA- Acting Training Manager, RSTU5.

The Regional Director of NAPOLCOM- Josephmar B Gil, MPSA, CESO IV graced the event as the Guest of Honor and Speaker during the Program proper. Right after the program, the competition had started. First performer is Camarines Sur PPO, followed by Masbate PPO, Sorsogon PPO, Catanduanes PPO, Naga PPO, Camarines Norte PPO and lastly the Albay PPO. Part of the competition is the CDM formations and case-based scenarios.
The evaluation consists of three phases: 1st phase for graded inspection which includes the completeness of CDM composition, equipment, uniforms, and support elements; 2nd phase is the demonstration of the eight (8) basic CDM formations; and 3rd phase jumped into the problem solving which requires the participants to solve scenario based problems drawn from several situations.

The result of the competition was consolidated by the Committee/ Secretariat. The winners for the competition are:
CHAMPION- Camarines Norte PPO (90.05%)
1st Runner-up- Catanduanes (86.16%)
2nd Runner-up- Masbate (84.93%)
