The celebration is in adherence with Republic Act No. 9201 otherwise known as “An Act declaring December 4 to 10 as National Human Rights Consciousness Week in the Country and for other Purposes". The week-long celebration will culminate on December 10, 2018, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights Day wherein there shall be wide-reading of the abridged-version of “Panata sa Karapatang Pantao” on the culminating which shall be simultaneously held during the Monday Flag Raising Ceremony. The Regional Human Rights Desk and all Provincial/City Police Human Rights Officers will also conduct random inspections of the PNP Custodial Facilities in their respective jurisdictions to ensure that persons under the PNP custody or PUPCs are treated in a humane and dignified manner and to uphold their individual rights and standards and existing laws. Also, these activities will be undertaken to make the people aware of their basic human rights in relation to the functions and services offered by these government instrumentalities.
