The Traditional Flag Raising Ceremony does not alone demonstrate one of the enduring core values of the PNP which is the love of country (Makabayan) but it also pave the way in acknowledging and awarding its deserving personnel. Thus, Medalya ng Kagalingan were given to, PSUPT CARL JOSEPH B JAUCIAN, PO3 RODOLFO A TAYONG, PO2 ANTONIO D REFERIZA, PO REYMOUND B MARTINEZ and JOEBERT A ALVOVINDAS in recognition of their meritorious accomplishment as team leader and members of the combined operating teams of 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, Masbate PPO and Regional Intelligence Unit 5, during the conduct of extensive casing, surveillance and successful implementation of warrant of arrest at about 6:00 AM of November 30, 2018 at Brgy Cabas-an, Aroroy Masbate, which resulted in the neutralization of Nelson Rabino aka Ka Masoy member of Larangan 1, PLTN1, KPA4, collection/finance officer, New People's Army-Special Partisan Unit (NPA-SPARU) Leader after the latter engaged in the firefight against the operating teams and recovery of one cal 45 pistol with defaces serial number, one clamor mine (anti-personnel explosive), one electric blasting cap electric wire, two nine battery and improvised power switch. Their conspicuous act of courage in the face of the enemy manifests their resoluteness and deep devotion to duty worthy of praise and emulation by their peers in the Philippine National Police. On the same event, Police Regional Office 5, headed by PCSUPT ARNEL B ESCOBAL and University of Santo Tomas-Legazpi with Mr. Jesus A. Barizo, Director, Office of Student Services, University of Sto. Tomas-Legazpi signed a Memorandum of Agreement for Work Immersion Partnership. The Work immersion aims to supplement the formal curriculum of the Senior High School (SHS) program with special inputs coming from the the NGA experts and practitioners in order to align the SHS program with work standards; to develop in the students of the SHS program the knowledge and skills that are relevant to the needs of the job in the area; to provide SHS students relevant learning experiences by exposing them to the actual workplace setting; and to form Work immersion partnership between the school and the NGA, allowing the students, faculty and the staff of the school concerned the use of the access to the NGA workplace and equipment as part of their Work Immersion Program. The MOA Signing is in support of the Philippine National Police on the new K-12 program curriculum under the Department of Education and will do its part in helping to realize the aim of this program in enhancing the student’s skills and abilities in preparation for their future career. Likewise, MR. JESUS A BARIZO was given Plaque of appreciation in grateful recognition of his unwavering and whole wholehearted support for sharing his precious time and words of wisdom as Resource Speaker during the MOA Signing on Work Immersion Program Partnership between PRO5 and University of Santo Tomas-Legazpi.
